| I'm not getting a signal/my signal is cutting out, even though my repeater is on |
-Check all of your connections and ensure they are tightly fastened: power supply, cables into both the antenna(s) and repeater.
-Ensure the outdoor signal level is sufficient by pointing your external antenna in the direction of the base station. Remove any obstructions possible between your external antenna and the base station.
-Ensure that your external antenna and indoor antenna(s) are properly isolated from each other (in the case of the X, the indoor antenna is in the unit) and are at least three meters (10ft) apart. (X, L & T only)
-In the case of the X, ensure that the unit is pointing in the opposite direction of the external antenna. If the external antenna and the X are too close together, the DL Red LED will be illuminated. |
| I don't know where my nearest base station is, how do I direct my antenna towards it to get the best possible signal? |
-The ideal area for your external antenna will probably be in the highest elevation possible, with the fewest obstacles between the antenna and the base station.
-The ideal area for your antenna is the area where your cell phone gets the best reception (the highest number of bars). Slowly move your phone around potential antenna locations to determine the direction of the base station in this manner. Professional tools are also available to achieve this but are unnecessary.
-If you are still unsure or if all potential sites receive equal coverage, call your carrier and ask for the location of the nearest base station. Install the antenna pointing in this direction.
-If you live in the United States, you can refer to this website for assistance in locating your nearest base station. |
| The repeater's signal is not stable |
-Ensure that your external antenna and indoor antenna(s) are properly isolated from each other (in the case of the X, the indoor antenna is in the unit) and are at least three meters (10ft) apart. (X, L & T only)
-Ensure that the antennas and RF cables are not damaged or too weathered to function properly. |
| The signal strength in the corner of a room is too weak (X, L & T only) |
-Ensure that the gain is set at the maximum value, consult manual on Manual Gain Control for this procedure.
-Ensure that your external antenna and indoor antenna(s) are properly isolated from each other (in the case of the X, the indoor antenna is in the unit) and are at least three meters (10ft) apart.
-Ensure that the antennas and RF cables are not damaged or too weathered to function properly. |
| The UL Red LED is illuminated (X only) |
-This will often happen if a person using a mobile phone is too close to the X unit. Ensure that the distance between the person and the X is no less than one meter. If the light remains illuminated, move further away from the unit or reduce the gain via the Manual Gain Control |
| After the installation there is a DL signal detectable, but it is still impossible to make a phone call (X, L & T only) |
-Ensure that your external antenna and indoor antenna(s) are properly isolated from each other (in the case of the X, the indoor antenna is in the unit) and are at least three meters (10ft) apart. (X, L & T only)
-Ensure your outdoor and indoor antennas are in their optimal location, as described above.
-Reduce the repeater's gain |
