Installing Your L or T Series Repeater

Installing your L Series or T Series repeater is simple, just use the following advice to get the most out of your new Signal Aid product.

First off, you will want to install the donor antenna (the one that receives the signal from the network) in the area in or around your home or office that gets the best reception. That may be on the rooftop, the side of the building, or inside the building close to a window. Remember, the higher and more open the area, the better the signal is going to be. Ideally the donor antenna should face the Base Station of the operator that the signal is intended to amplify. Second, you need to consider the placement of your indoor signal antenna(s) (the one that will send and receive direct signals with your mobile phone), taking into consideration the size of the indoor area, building construction and obstacles that could cause signal deterioration. For best performance, the signal antennas should be installed on the ceiling or at the very least, on a wall 2 meters off the floor. The antennas should be placed centrally to the area requiring coverage. Please keep in mind that in order to avoid interference between antennas, the signal and donor antenna should be at least three meters apart and facing in opposite directions.

1. Mount the signal antenna in the optimal area, as described above. Attach the cable to the antenna and bring it to the base unit. To reduce weathering and remove a potential hazard, fasten the cable against walls or ceilings.
2. Place the base unit in the area of your home or office that will be central to the locations of the signal antenna(s). Attach the cable from the donor antenna to the base unit.
3. If more than one signal antenna is being used, connect the repeater to the splitter via a cable. If some signal antennas will be a great distance from the base unit, consider connecting the splitter and the base unit with a longer length of cable.
4. Install signal antenna in previously selected location. Route the cable between the base unit or splitter and the signal antenna, again fastening to walls or along the edge of the floor to avoid a hazard. Connect cable to the signal antenna. Repeat for any additional signal antennas.
5. Connect the power supply to the base unit and turn it on. That's it! You're ready to make a phone call where you couldn't before.
